What it allows

Running a business in Japan or managing one. The criteria were tightened by a ministerial ordinance that took effect on 16 October 2025: the capital requirement rose from JPY 5 million to JPY 30 million and at least one full-time employee is now required. Current holders are not refused renewal solely for failing the new standard until 16 October 2028; check the Immigration Services Agency guideline for the current conditions.
